Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are just a few of the things going on in the 812:
1. Free Movies About Muscular Dudes Driving Cars Really Fast
What's better than watching long, action-packed street racing scenes with good looking actors and actresses committing literally dozens of moving violations and putting innocent pedestrians at risk? Watching it all for FREE! Xscape Theatres in Jeffersonville is offering an incredible opportunity to watch the Fast & Furious movie saga at no cost. The movies will be shown one each Friday, in the order or their original release, beginning this Friday. Click on the link below for all of the details.
5/21, Movie starts at 7pm, in-person ticket purchase required.
2. Come Look Inside Of Cool Cars That Don't Belong To You Without The Risk Of Being Arrested.
It's a car show! Come see the cars of yesteryear, when cars were cool and you didn't have to plug them in before driving them. Clarksville Parks and Recreation is hosting a Summer Cruise-In Car Show. A DJ will be spinning Old School hits while you check out these Old School Classic cars. If you have a classic car, you are welcome to bring it, otherwise get in any old jalopy that will move you down the road and join in the fun at Clarksville's Gateway Park. Dock Seafood will be on hand serving food and drink.
5/21, 5pm-7pm, free admission
3. Watch A Movie About Animated People Who Live Outside While Sitting Outside
Lanesville is kicking off the summer with Movie Night in the Park. Bring a chair and a blanket and come watch a movie out under the stars. The Croods 2 is showing on the outdoor screen and Gunther's Chop shop will be slinging BBQ, nachos, hot dogs and the like, while The Cookie Cabin will be doing what they we know they do. So come grab some ice cream filled cookies for dinner, some BBQ nachos for dessert, and relax while watching a movie about cave-people.
5/21, Food Trucks Open At 6pm, free admission
4. Shop At An 'Underground Market' Featuring Local Women Owned Businesses
This unique event will feature the goods and wares of local women entrepreneurs. The market will be located at the Underground Station retail center in New Albany. 10 different businesses will be participating, selling clothing, candles, soaps, jewelry and more.
5/22, 10-4pm, free admission
5. A Child, A Giant Talking Cat, An Elephant, And Outlandish Song And Dance Numbers
